Seeing improvement in the horses I work with is an important element of the work I do at Whole Horse Wellness. Often improvement happens incrementally, as part of a gradual multiple-visit process. Sometimes, however, improvement can happen suddenly and much more dramatically. The attached footage of Willow is an illustration of dramatic improvement.
Willow is a recently recued horse who did not have a name when she arrived, was underweight, and seemed to have forgotten how to interact with other horses. In addition, there was something going on with Willow's hind end, which was actually what I had been asked to assess and address by my equine rescue client.
In the first two video clips, which was recorded for the invaluable information they would provide me, you'll see Willow dropping, rolling, and getting up again. Note the difference in the ease with which Willow regains her feet again after the first full bodywork visit vs. a week later, after the second bodywork visit, including supportive hock K-taping, is pretty dramatic.
The other clips are of Willow moving at liberty in turnout, after about three or so bodywork sessions. While she still has issues I continue to address, it is lovely to see how nicely she moves.
